There are a variety of ways to find the right specification or to seek the meaning of a work plan acronym. This section will provide you with ways to get the spec. and how to find the technology areas covered by 3GPP.
- The Work Plan is a table that contains all of the deliverables being worked on, with the most recent WIDs and SIDs at the top of the plan and earlier items listed at the bottom.
- If you already know the 3GPP specification or report number, you can take a more direct route, via the Specification Series page or via direct access to the FTP server.
- The third way is to ‘Browse our technologies’ via a keyword search. This web page is intended to provide an overview of the hot topics and new features coming up.
3GPP specifications
3GPP specifications are made available - free of charge - four times a year following the quarterly Technical Specification Group (TSG) plenary meetings. At each TSG round, specs can be:
- Brought under change control (i.e. at least 80% complete).
- Unchanged from their previous versions.
- Revised as a result of incorporating approved Change Requests.
- At Release-freeze time, upgraded to that Release with no technical change.
The 3GPP Mobile Competence Centre (MCC) makes all Specifications available as soon as possible following each TSG plenary meeting round.
